Possible Violation of Wikipedia's Paid-Contribution Disclosure. Remove page?

[edit]

I began looking into the edit history and content of this article after receiving a tip in which someone whom I trust told me he were asked by this article's subject's team to add information to this article as part of his employment at a sister company of the subject's. I want to note that as of writing this on 1 February 2024, there have been no postings on the talk page about commissioned writing of this article nor do any of the comments in any edit reference it being a paid change. According to Wikipedia:PCD, the only other way for commissioned edits to be allowed is if the user discloses it on their own page, which sparked my investigation into the editors of this article. Below is what I discovered:

ESTABLISHING CONNECTIONS

Before going through the less than legitimate looking edit history, it is important to display a connection between this article's subject (Swati Bhise) and Bravia Capital. In this article, it notes Ms. Bhise as being married to Bharat Bhise. Through Mr. Bhise's website, we can see he is the Founder and CEO of Bravia Capital, which is based in New York City, where the article claims that Ms. Bhise lives. We can double check our work here by visting the Bravia Capital site's "Our Team" section in which Mr. Bhise is listed as Founder and CEO. Furthermore, if we check the company's LinkedIn page, we can not only see a mention of Mr. Bhise's name as founder, but that the primary address for Bravia Capital is located at 445 Park Ave in New York City.

SUSPICIOUS EDITORS

445Park

Knowing the information above, we can begin with this article's creation at 14:58 on 20 September 2016 by @445Park, which, as noted above, is the address of Ms. Bhise's husband's company. Furthermore, if you look at the contributions of @445Park, they begin with edits of their own page that closely resemble that of Ms. Bhise's article. On 20 September 2016, @445Park cleared their own user page and created the article for Ms.Bhise. These actions were three (3) minutes apart. Note that @445Park's user account does not now, nor did it at that time, reference any sort of commission on their user page.

DB0329

Between 15:06 and 15:47 on 20 September 2016 (the day this article was created), the account @DB0329 made seven (7) edits to this article. There have only been two (2) other contributions made from this user. The first was on the same day as the edits just mentioned and it added a link to Ms. Bhise's name in the article of Alice Shields. The second was made the day after (21 September 2016) and it added Ms. Bhise to the list of Indian women in dance. This account also does not ever mention commission.

Bravia IT

The most convincing evidence I can show for Ms. Bhise continued abuse of undisclosed paid editing is the account of @Bravia IT. This account is currently banned since, in a message to @Ponyo, this account admitted to working for Ms. Bhise and being instructed to make changes to this article. The message reads as such:

Hi Ponyo,
I am Mrs. Bhise's assistant updating her page for her as per instructions.
Please restore the changes we made and let us know what needs to be changed, we will comply and edit them.
Thank you.

Furthermore, Ms. Bhise clearly made another attempt with the account Msranikumar as being a sock puppet of @Bravia IT (once again, thank you @Ponyo.

CONCLUSION

At this point, I have proved that Ms. Bhise has, at least once, paid someone to update and manage this article about herself, which was not discloused. Furthermore, I've raised questions of the legitimacy of the account that created this article in the first place (@445Park) and another account that has also highly contributed to only this article. It is at this time I would like to call to have this article removed or, at least, the parts written by the sock puppet accounts listed above to be deleted. The evidence I have found here seemingly point to Ms. Bhise repeatedly abusing Wikipedia for promotional reasons and, despite being told directly via the Bravia IT account about the rules about promotional and undisclosed paid edits, has continued to attempt to fraud the site. 72.69.122.176 (talk) 23:02, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
