B-Class Assessment

[edit]

I have assessed the article as B-Class and mid importance. There is some material that needs citations, but not enough to warrant anything lower than B-Class; however more references should be sought (an example is "A wrong-side failure of the signalling system, as a result of human intervention, was believed to be the cause"). further references have been added and coordinates included. Geez-oz (talk) 12:40, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Recommend removal of Stub Template

[edit]

suggest the Stub Template within WP_Australia should be removed, contradicts the start class template on TrainsWikiProject and the article has been expanded Geez-oz (talk) 01:19, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Additional information and references re. Driver

[edit]

For completness the article would benefit with information regarding the quote...

The driver of the second train (the Bankstown train) was charged with manslaughter, accused of being under the influence of alcohol[5]

Did the Train Driver 'Harold Joseph O'Neill' get convicted of the manslaughter charge? I have not been able to find a follow up source stating a conviction or cleared of charges

reference found re driver acquital and added to article, but now...
no reference could be found to the conviction or acquital of the signal electrician!

Why no name?

[edit]

...a signal electrician was attending a failure of a track circuit... he forgot to remove the screwdriver to drop the track circuit relay when the section became occupied by a train, allowing a second train to see green signals and collide with the first... A Signals Electrician was also charged with manslaughter for his part in the incident.

Was it the same Signals Electrician? Why isn't he named?
