A short description with a link to the current software page on sourceforge seems adequate to me. This page is linked to by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_backup_software and is useful for someone researching FOSS backup options.

(This is an extremely important topic for anyone wishing to guarantee long-term storage of their data. Proprietary solutions are not an option, as this places the ability to recover data OUT of the hands of the owner of the data. Consequently having a list of open source backup software is important.)

Any description of a software package is then pretty reliant on information about that package. Rather than maintain the descriptive information in 2 locations it is usually better to have one up-to-date description.

Development Status

[edit]

There seems to be no information about the current development status of the software. The information about the last stable release seems to be fine, which happened in 2011. But if there has been no release within 5 years, I guess it would be safe to assume that the development status is in-active or something like that, no? Thanks. Safe to say, yes. The SVN repository hasn't been updated since 2013. However, the last commit added Qt 5 support, so luckily this should still build on a modern OS with Qt 5 libraries available. --Ernstkm (talk) 07:29, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
