Article was marked for deletion for the following reason: "If this is truly specific to one team, then this is not encyclopedic. With only this definition, it appears to be a neologism."

I disagree with this. From what I understand from the article about avoiding neologigism:

This is a piece of software, not a "word" or "term". It also does not refer to a "type of software"; it's about 1 specific program. The source I gave even shows a version number (1.0).

I think that with a bit of searching and asking the right people, this piece of software can be quite well understood, clearly defined and have a single meaning.

It depends on how secret / proprietary the technology is. But you can't know that without doing some research first.

I recommend keeping this article, at least until someone can prove that the software does not exist or is and always will be top secret.

Maybe the proof lies on the author of the article, to prove that the software exist. And not the other way around. I think this article should be deleted, unless you or someone provides us with a download link, a code repository, or similar. Questions[edit]

What I'd like to know is if Craig Venter intends to release this as a product. If so, whether it's going to be an open source or not.

Given the pace at which synthesizing genomes is moving along, that's not an irrelevant question. Something like this could be available in any modestly funded lab within a few years. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sjors (talk • contribs) 20:03, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
