Pantsir-S1[edit]

This source [1] says Syria purchased 36-50 Pantsir-S1. --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 01:14, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

SA6 and SA17[edit]

I added the SA6 and SA17 to the inventory list, as they are mentioned in the article. However, I am not sure how many there are. Does anybody has a reliable source? Phoib (talk) 13:07, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

SA11 and SA17 numbers seem to be too high given Syrian economic situation- these systems are very expensive and Russia does not give them away as Soveit Union did.

SA6- it would be itneresting to know how many are operational but they were available in large numbers — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.143.147.63 (talk) 06:40, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

S300[edit]

Syria does not have S-300, needs updating. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.196.205.166 (talk) 20:57, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

True Syria does not have SA-10 (S-300) systems. Also quantities of other systems are a bit dubious. Please refer to http://geimint.blogspot.com/2007/09/syrian-sam-network.html which provides excellent discussion of strategic SAM network. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.143.147.63 (talk) 06:37, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Claims of having shot down missiles[edit]

Some claims of Syria (possibly Russia) having shot down about half of the cruise missiles launched against them by the USA, 2017. [2]

Possibly just propaganda: [3] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ketil (talkcontribs) 11:26, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Claims that Syria (possibly Russia, possibly Iran) shot down five of eight missiles aimed at T4 airport, allegedly launced by Israeli F15s in Lebanese airspace. (several news outlets)

Not sure if these stories are substantiated well enough, and clearly subject to propaganda interests from various parties. But if true, they help to illustrate Syrian (Russian, Iranian) air defense capabilities. Leaving it here, if somebody wants to add it.
