General Syrian Congress (GSC)

[edit]

Nobody has dealt with the General Syrian Congress (GSC) on Wiki. What makes it be distinct from the Syrian National Congress and other post-WWI Pan-Syrian "congresses"? Arminden (talk) 16:20, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Izzat_Darwaza links GSC to this article, the year (1919) is the same, so I added "General Syrian Congress (GSC)" to the lead and am now placing links in articles and creating a redirect. Arminden (talk) 16:25, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The same as the "Central Syrian Congress"?

[edit]

Is the Central Syrian Congress the same as the General Syrian Congress, aka Syrian National Congress? The term shows up on the Sykes-Picot page (here). We don't need a third name, unless it's used in documents. If that is indeed the case, then

  1. a redirect must be created from "Central Syrian Congress" to the "Syrian National Congress" article, and
  2. "Central Syrian Congress" must be added to the lead of "Syrian National Congress". Arminden (talk) 17:14, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The same as the "Pan-Syrian Congress"?

[edit]

This FOURTH name appears on the Amin al-Husseini page. Same procedure...

Is someone here trying to put Monty Python in the shadow...? Or is this a matter of hen & egg? Arminden (talk) 17:18, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
