Merger proposal[edit]

I propose that the Military Revolutionary Council (Syria) article be merged into this one. This article has the same wording regarding the unification of rebel groups (the phrase in the MRC article is the "Watasimo Initiative", while the SRCC article calls it the the "Wa I’tasimu Initiative" [1]. The Al-Nusra Front is excluded from both organizations; MRC reference: [2]; SRCC reference: [3]. The McClatchy article even calls the MRC the "Revolutionary Command Council" [4]. The McClatchy DC article also mentions that the organization released its' charter in October. There is a link to a YouTube video on the SRCC page of a person discussing the charter [5]. Ahrar ash-Sham is part of both organizations (evidence for Ahrar ash-Sham's affiliation with the MRC is in the McClatchy DC article; proof that it is part of the SRCC is here: [6]. David O. Yes, the Revolutionary Command Council was announced in principle on August 3, and they announced its composition and members a few days ago. The "Military Revolutionary Council" is basically incorrect in its naming and is referring to the conference that the RCC originally announced would eventually take place in their August 3rd statement. 2014/30/11 -- An observer

They are exactly the same organization; see [7]; the 3rd image has the name "Syrian Revolutionary Command Council". The other members aren't listed, but the info from the MRC article will probably be moved to this article anyways. David O. Johnson (talk) 05:00, 1 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
