Does this page need to exist as it's own entry, as opposed to being included in the main Red Rocks page? SpikeJones 14:05, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Given the number of articles and the notabiliy established from the television show, I believe that it does. Before I created the article I looked at some of the other restaurants and this one seemed more notable then some of the others out there. If this was merged into the casino article, would that encourage sections for all of the restaurants in all of the casinos? Would that be a good thing? Vegaswikian 22:28, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think that there would be that much encouragement. A one-or-two sentence blurb about the Hell's Kitchen prize is all that's needed, not a huge description about the restaurant in general. It would be similar to, say, the article on Caesars mentioning in passing that Spago in the Forum Shops was the first celebrity-chef restaurant in Vegas. No need to harp on details. Perhaps a restaurant article itself could go over on WikiTravel? SpikeJones 23:10, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Why not leave this article for a while and see how it develops? I also noticed that Vegas has almost no articles on restaurants compared to other cities. Given the status being granted to many of the restaurants here via the media, I wonder if this is an area that should be worked on. This is the only restaurant in Summerlin that has a writeup. None of the top rated restarants on the Strip have articles. Vegaswikian 00:02, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This really needs to be merged back to Red Rocks Casino. Unless the restaurant makes a name for itself (besides having a former reality TV contestant as its executive chef), it doesn't really have any notability. --Madchester 21:20, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Considering that Heather is not mulling over the executive chef position at this restaurant, I have redirected the page. Regardless, of where she ends up working, the eatery is not really notable enough for it's own article. --Madchester 05:17, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • And just doing a redirect is totally wrong. If you wish to redrect, then you should merge the two articles frist. Vegaswikian 07:26, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The restaurant fails WP:CORP. It's only claim to notability is in question, per Heather's interview [1]. The restaurant is only a few months old and unless it can earn recognition superseding that of the Red Rock resort, it doesn't meet the criteria for it's own article. This material could have been speedy deleted, but a redirect is appropriate at the moment. --Madchester 16:23, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Wrong. The material should be merged before you do the redirect. For the record, it does meet WP:CORP since it has received coverage by multiple media sources. A redirect is to an article that covers the topic, not to an article that has no mention of the topic. Vegaswikian 20:03, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The first article is about the TV show Hell's Kitchen, not T-Bones. The second is on the entire Red Rocks Resort and the restaurant is only namechecked in a list of the many restaurants at the resort. The third article is simply advertising for Red Rocks and fails the 1st criteria of WP:CORP. Also, this article, which does not credit its author, is not allowed on Wikipedia, per Newspaper stories that do not credit a reporter or a news service and simply present company news in an uncritical or positive way may be treated as press releases unless there is evidence to the contrary.
The main Red Rocks article already contains relevant information about the restaurant, which is still in its infancy. If the restaurant is able to gain notability distinguishable from that of Red Rocks then it merits its own article. Otherwise, no. Wikipedia, has articles on topics of notability; this is not the other way around where an article is created in expectation of the topic's future notability. --Madchester 23:11, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
