I will review this article. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 01:43, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks very much, Taylor Trescott, keep me posted, — Cirt (talk) 03:43, 9 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think this article is within striking distance of the GA criteria and will be placing it on hold so these issues may be addressed.

  • Do we know what his full name or date of birth is?
  • Cottam's short films are produced through the banner titled, "Dirty Little Shorts" I think this could do with a bit more explaining. What is a banner in this case? Is it a production company?
  • Some of his films may warrant articles; consider some redlinks here.
  • The filmography mentions some films that aren't mentioned in the Career section. The Career section should mention these. They are Dirty Words: The Letter C, Je dis non, Ali, Laser Blasters, Objects, and Pollywogs.
  • The awards section uses an IMDB reference. IMDB is not generally considered a reliable source; something better should be used here.

Response to GA Review
  1. Unfortunately I haven't come across his full name or birth date in the course of my research.
  2. Copy edited this, it's part of a topical series.
  3. Good point, added a couple redlinks.
  4. I'd agree, however these other ones haven't received much discussion among secondary sources.
  5. Yes, it's true IMDB isn't a reliable source in most cases, but I think it is considered so narrowly with respect to Filmography and Awards, both of which can be confirmed in the credits of the Works themselves and the Award shows.

Thank you, Taylor Trescott, for these helpful suggestions, — Cirt (talk) 01:14, 13 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
