Created talk-page[edit]

Created talk page for TOI-700 - Enjoy! :) Drbogdan (talk) 01:43, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Article title change[edit]

Changed article title to "TOI-700" (from original "TOI 700") - use of new title seems more common/popular (including in the responsible scientific literature) - also => 40.2k/"TOI-700" vs 19.6k/"TOI 700" results in recent Google Search/20200107 - Drbogdan (talk) 17:14, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect TOI-700 d?[edit]

There is a redirect from the planet page TOI-700 d to this page. I think the planet itself is notable enough to have its own page. Views? Edwininlondon (talk) 17:27, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Edwininlondon: and others -  Done - a newly created page at "TOI-700 d" has now been started (currently in preliminary outline form) - title of "TOI-700 d" seemed best (Google Search Results/20200107 => "TOI-700 d"/45.4k; "TOI 700 d"/38.9k; "TOI 700d"/5.01k; "TOI-700d"/4.94k) - Editors Welcome to contribute of course - in any case - Enjoy! :) Drbogdan (talk) 17:51, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

– While a hyphen is used in scientific literature [1], it is missing in the majority of reliable sources [2][3][4][5], including NASA and MIT [6][7], who run the TESS mission. The only major source I could find using the hyphen is Sci-News.com [8]. "TOI 700" is clearly the common name here. It would also make it consistent with TOI 1338, the only other article on here bearing the name of a TOI designation. – PhilipTerryGraham (talk · articles · reviews) 08:40, 11 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@PhilipTerryGraham: -  Done - as OA of the noted articles - yes - agree - seems my original terms (ie, "TOI 700" and "TOI 700 d") may have been ok after all - thanks for the suggested move request - "TOI-700" has now been renamed to "TOI 700"; it's *entirely* ok with me to rename "TOI-700 d" to "TOI 700 d" (may need to rm an interfering rd to do this) - update: also renamed "TOI-677 b" to "TOI 677 b" (to be consistent) - iac - Enjoy! :) Drbogdan (talk) 13:46, 11 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
 Done, redirect handled. Let me know if any other cleanup is needed. Huntster (t @ c) 06:54, 12 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
