Untitled[edit]

This page seems higly not NPOV examples: "TPG is widely known throughout Australia due to their great value for money Internet plans." I fixed some of them but the page still needs more fixing. ——————————————————— This page lacks any mention of the fact they were a major hardware reseller until a year or so ago. This article is a stub. Please research fully.

Fair use rationale for Image:TPGlogo.svg[edit]

Image:TPGlogo.svg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Merge suggestion[edit]

Following the merger of TPG Telecom and Vodafone (Australia), there is some confusion.

  • TPG Telecom opens with: TPG Telecom Limited is an Australian telecommunications and IT company that...
  • Vodafone (Australia) opens with: TPG Telecom, formerly Vodafone Hutchison Australia Pty Limited and renamed following the takeover of TPG Telecom, is a mobile telecommunications company and Internet service provider...

To clear it up, propose that the articles be merged. Talaceninh (talk) 05:19, 16 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

TPG Telecom is the Umbrella Company "VHA said TPG’s shareholders “voted in favour of the scheme of arrangement to merge the two companies” and also to “change the company name from TPG Telecom Limited to TPG Corporation Limited.” https://www.itnews.com.au/news/tpg-shareholders-approve-15bn-merger-with-vodafone-549682

"The new TPG Telecom will be a house of brands featuring Vodafone, TPG, iiNet, Lebara, AAPT and Internode" https://www.vodafone.com.au/about/company This Basically means that Vodafone (Australia) & TPG(ISP) will still individual brands offering different services. It doesn't make sense to merge TPG Telecom and Vodafone (Australia). We just need to update TPG Telecom as a new entity with links to the individual brand pages (Vodafone, TPG, iiNet, Lebara, AAPT, and Internode) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nick-omg123 (talkcontribs) 01:50, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Most information for TPG Telecom should be taken from https://www.tpgtelecom.com.au/, not from Vodafone (Australia) as they are 2 different entities. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nick-omg123 (talkcontribs) 02:16, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The article TPG Telecom Limited was about the company most recently known as Vodafone Hutchison Australia Limited, which renamed to TPG Telecom Limited, I think on 13 july 2020. Is it worth having a separate article for the Vodafone-branded divisions of the company? ghouston (talk) 04:17, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it is worth having a separate article for Vodafone Australia (As a subsidiary brand TPG Telecom)

1) All the content on TPG Telecom Limited is about Vodafone Australia (History, Services Etc) Not about "TPG Telecom Limited" as an umbrella company offering more services 2) Most of TPG Telecom Limited brands have their own Wikipedia because they are well-established business entities in Australia i.e TPG (ISP), Lebara, iiNet 3) This is a common structure within Wikipedia with well-known brands that are part of a parent organization i.e Adidas, Reebok, Five Ten Footwear etc 4) TPG Telecom should have its own page as a parent organisation like Verizon Communications or Telefónica — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nick-omg123 (talkcontribs) 00:41, 21 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As Nick-omg123 suggested the companies should come under their parent company - I feel the easiest solution to this is.

1) Roll back the Vodafone Australia page back to Vodafone Australia from TPG Telecom 2) New TPG Telecom page for the new parent company 3) List all subbrands as listed on https://www.tpgtelecom.com.au/about-us/our-brands/ to the parent company as per Nick-omg123's suggestion — Preceding unsigned comment added by 45.113.92.114 (talk) 00:31, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm not sure. There isn't any "new parent company", just a renaming of Vodafone. If we want an article for the Vodafone-branded services, I suggest creating a new one for that. In any case, it doesn't seem to be necessary to merge anything. ghouston (talk) 06:14, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have updated the content on this page with TPG Telecom info and have moved over the content form Vodafone Australia to a new Vodafone Australia (brand) page — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nick-omg123 (talkcontribs) 07:06, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • It looks fine, I closed the merge request since it seems to have been resolved. ghouston (talk) 04:38, 15 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:XLINK (ISP) which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 03:33, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
