TSMCTaiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing CompanyWP:NCA: Although TSMC or Taiwan Semiconductor are used in many news headers for space-saving purposes, the company's primary recognizable name should be Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (its full legal name minus the "ltd."). That is also the name on company profiles by CNBC and Bloomberg, which only use "TSMC" for subsequent mentions. -- Nemoschool (talk) 03:40, 22 November 2019 (UTC)Relisting. Dekimasuよ! 11:44, 1 December 2019 (UTC)

It refers to itself as TSMC https://www.tsmc.com/english/aboutTSMC/index.htm , so I think TSMC is indeed the common name, which should remain as the title.--Roy17 (talk) 00:02, 5 December 2019 (UTC)
  • Support. Abbreviations are jargon, and are supposed to be defined on first use. This means don’t use abbreviations in titles, as a rule, exceptions should be exceptional. —SmokeyJoe (talk) 08:06, 11 December 2019 (UTC)
TSMC is just like BBC, CNN, etc., that goes by its abbreviation more commonly, as the link I wrote above shows.--Roy17 (talk) 14:59, 11 December 2019 (UTC)
Having relisted, I won't express an opinion here, but I would note that this something like the 30th largest company in the world, so in many ways the company probably is fairly exceptional. Dekimasuよ! 16:42, 11 December 2019 (UTC)
Yeah maybe, but no. TSMC does not ring link BBC, CNN, DNA, or USSR. And Wikipedia is not a company directory, in fact Wikipedia gives companies the hardest time for all topics.
However, on a second look, strongly prefer Taiwan Semiconductor to the proposed, preferred by several naming criteria. —SmokeyJoe (talk) 02:24, 12 December 2019 (UTC)
Oppose the proposed title. Inconcise, and not used. I still want to prefer Taiwan Semiconductor, but sources appear to use TSMC as if it is exceptional, like IBM. —SmokeyJoe (talk) 03:31, 13 December 2019 (UTC)
  • Oppose per WP:COMMONNAME and WP:CONCISE. Looks like TSMC is often used as the only name of the company, like in this article. I think this is like IBM. Also WP:TITLECHANGES, as there is no good reason to move, since the full name is given in the lead anyway. We should continue to convey that the company is best known as TSMC by keeping that as the title. --В²C 20:25, 12 December 2019 (UTC)
