@RedPatch: Where on www.tssfc.ca/rovers the team's name is referred to as "FC Rovers"? I cannot find such an instance. Canada Soccer presents them as "Rovers FC",[1][2] while League1 Canada, BC Soccer and OneSoccer refer to them as "Rovers FC".[3][4][5] Numerous third-party sources such as CBC News, CityNews and 90min write them as "Rovers FC" as well.[6][7][8] Even if there is an instance of "FC Rovers" on their website, a WP:COMMONNAME trumps an WP:OFFICIALNAME. — AFC Vixen 🦊 10:51, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

At https://www.tssfc.ca/adult Scroll down and it says the men's and women's first teams are TSS FC Rovers RedPatch (talk) 10:59, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have a rebuttal to "Rovers FC" being the WP:COMMONNAME? — AFC Vixen 🦊 11:01, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not really in favour for or against since I've seen both forms used in various places. With inconsistencies between the two forms, I tend to just stick with the status quo (which is why I moved it back). I would say though that proposing a change through a WP:RM and letting the wider community decide would be better than a unilateral change and moving the article though and I'd go with whatever the larger wiki community decides. Requested move 3 February 2023

The result of the move request was: not moved. Not an obvious case of WP:COMMONNAME, both names are used interchangeably. (non-admin closure) ❯❯❯ Raydann(Talk) 08:16, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

TSS FC RoversTSS Rovers FC – An open-and-shut case of WP:COMMONNAME in my opinion. I have provided sources in the discussion above. — AFC Vixen 🦊 10:12, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Weak oppose The two names are both used, including in sources, such as the team's official website as mentioned above, and other sources such as Soccerway, Transfermarkt, USL League Two, as well as in other sources such as [1], [2], [3]. So its not as open and shut as AFC Vixen view it. Given the use of both forms, I tend to just default to the current one in place. RedPatch (talk) 13:24, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The organisers of the tournament and leagues, the broadcaster, and the mainstream third-party news sources I cited have a far wider reach. — AFC Vixen 🦊 13:28, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
