One question to this mysterious sentence: "After the Visigothic victory at Adrianople (378), their king Athanaric began to assail the Taifals." How could Athanaric be present at Hadrianople, when he was with his Thervingi in the Carpathians at this time??? Centrum99 (talk) 14:30, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The sentence doesn't say Athanaric was at Adrianople. I have tried to clarify it anyway. Perhaps the modifier "Visigothic" should be dropped. Srnec (talk) 16:30, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Since it was not Athanaric's, but Fritigern's Visigoths, the sentence is very confusing for the reader. Centrum99 (talk) 16:54, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Removed Visigothic and added Fritigern, I hope the sentence makes sense now. Srnec (talk) 23:06, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Taivola

[edit]

"The town of Taivola in northern Italy was also a Taifal settlement."

Where is the town of Taivola, in northern Italy? This town seems to have disappeared. Google Maps. G. Calabria (talk) 23:56, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No idea, but could you please explain the connexion between Touffaillou and Cazes-Mondenard at the latter article? Srnec (talk) 19:04, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Touffaillou is a lieu-dit (a hamlet) in Cazes-Mondenard [1] -- G. Calabria (talk) 19:59, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
