History[edit]

Can anyone confirm the year the town was founded? I thought it was in the 1890s. The page implies it was the mid-1800s. Neil Dodgson 22:22, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Found an entry in the 1966 Encyclopaedia of New Zealand which verifies that the town was founded in 1894 Neil Dodgson 22:08, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Schools[edit]

Can anyone update the section on the schools? What is the current state of affairs? Neil Dodgson 22:22, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dilapidated house picture[edit]

The article has contained the image File:Iconic old house, south of Taihape.JPG for over eight years, but I don't see how it adds any value to the article. Is this house in any way considered iconic? An anon has changed the caption to "A typical family home in Taihape" which is obviously vandalism.-gadfium 02:28, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have replaced the photo with one of the town hall.-gadfium 04:13, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
