Talk:Tales of Dunk and Egg

Page contents not supported in other languages.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The first version of this page made it explicit that Dunk was indeed knighted by Ser Arlan of Pennytree. However, there story is deliberately unclear on that issue, and some readers believe that it is and essential feature of the story that Dunk was never formally knighted, yet keeps the knightly vows better than the all the anointed Sers. Thus I changed the summary to be equally unclear about the issue.

Sworn Sword treated on this page

[edit]

The SoIaF template refers to a separate Sworn Sword page, but that one never appeared. I will update the template. The individual novellas don't seem to warrant separate articles.

Date

[edit]

The article says several times that The Hedge Knight takes place in 208 AL. The novella has no date in it. However, in the graphic novel (checked and okayed by George RR Martin) it is explicity stated that the tourney takes place in 209, up to several months before the Great Spring Sickness kills King Daeron, Valarr and Matarys. I have altered it accordingly.--Werthead 18:59, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

New page

[edit]

This page was created to reflect the common name of the series, rather than relying on the name of the first novella in the series. The former page redirects to here. Pejorative.majeure 23:42, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Hedgeknight.jpg

[edit]

Image:Hedgeknight.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:15, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mystery Knight

[edit]

So...anyone gonna put up a summary of Mystery Knight? Or are we waiting longer to minimize spoilers? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.73.165.197 (talk) 06:20, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Someone please remove the spoiler!

[edit]

I dont know too much about how Wikipedia works - hope I do this comment correctly...

Someone should remove the spoiler from the first paragraph of this entry. Egg's identity is major plot element. At the very least a spoiler warning should be given. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.22.225.25 (talk) 13:10, 31 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bran's Vision in ADWD

[edit]

I'm pretty sure that Bran's weirwood vision depicting a very tall knight, standing by the pool/tree at Winterfell, being kissed by a slightly-shorter girl who stands on tiptoe, is Dunk the Tall. I'm waffling right on the knife-edge of original research. Worth a mention? Sskoog (talk) 21:27, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Why isn't... wasn't the link to A Wiki of Ice and Fire a deeplink to the corresponding page? A policy to prevent broken links? PizzaMan (talk) 11:26, 13 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
