Untitled[edit]

Could someone knowledgable please document the "Huldra" logo (woman with a tail) used by Tandberg for its audio equipment ? ( moved this from article page to talk page ) -- Austin Murphy 18:40, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

TANDBERG or Tandberg[edit]

For TANDBERG:

For Tandberg:

  • MOS:TM says "Follow standard English text formatting and capitalization rules even if the trademark owner encourages special treatment".

Correct. The latter say we should not use all caps. For example, when Tandberg is mentioned in Forbes, it is not spelled in all caps (e.g. Ericsson Watching Tandberg Television, Tandberg, StarBak settle patent-infringement lawsuits, announce partnership). Also, even the company does not consistently use caps, look at the title at the top of your web browser when you click through to their sites. The only one that uses the caps is Tandberg Television. (e.g. Tandberg Data Home, Tandberg Storage ASA - Home, etc) GlassFET 19:18, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Tandberg, Tandberg Television, Tandberg Data, and Tandberg Storage are all separate companies so there would be no reason to assume consistency in the capitalization of the four names. One company separated into three in 1979 and since then some more have been spun off. From what I have seen, the first two, TANDBERG [1] and 'TV [2], always use ALL CAPS, even for the title bar of their web pages, 'Data [3] uses all caps at least for the logo and possibly elsewhere, and 'Storage [4] never uses ALL CAPS.
While Forbes is a respected business magazine, it does not necessarily set the standard for how wikipedia does capitalization. For examples of good articles with proper names with unique capitalization, I offer VERITAS Software and NeXT. -- Austin Murphy 20:17, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Those article are actually incorrect according to MOS:TM, which specifically addresses the issue. GlassFET 20:20, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal[edit]

I've added the merge template missing on the target article; proposal seems very reasonable to me. Klbrain (talk) 21:11, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
