first example

The first example can be done by a u-substitution u=cos(x), so it's not a very good illustration of the method, and the answer comes out obviously too complicated. Tkuvho (talk) 14:30, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

You're right; I'll find a different one (unless someone else does it first). Michael Hardy (talk) 18:15, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

I've replaced it with a different example that does not appear to be obviously doable via that sort of simple substitution. Michael Hardy (talk) 22:49, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

The illustration is incorrect for x, which should be the angle measured from the North Pole. The illustrated x angle is from the horizontal line and it does not fit for the derived formulations (sin x and cos x relationships with t). purpose of trailing alignment tabs

In this edit, can you explain the purpose of the two alignment tabs before the line-break in the "align" environment in TeX? My understanding of the purpose of alignment tabs does not include any purpose that is served when no content on the same line follows the alignment tab.
