Journey to France???[edit]

"At Borabora, the native pastors were opposed to the military exercises encouraged by Tapoa II (which he had learned in France)."[1][1]

"Only on Borabora was there a measure of stable government under Tapoa. Peace deteriorated when he adopted Pomare’s daughter, Teari‘imaevarua, who was consecrated “queen” by Platt in 1860. She may have reigned, but she did not rule; and effective control passed to Tapoa II, who had been to France and who later acted as regent for the daughter of Tamatoa V." --- This implies Newbury's Tapoa II was distinct from the one who died in 1861 since he couldn't have been regent for Teriimaevarua III as well.
