2011 Detention by the Bahraini authorities[edit]

According to informal unreferenced reports, as of June Tareq Al-Farsani has remained in detention since his arrest on 16 April, as far as is known without having been charged. A Twitter message sent by Nabeel Rajab of Bahrain Center for Human Rights BCHR [1] reports that Tareq Al-Farsani's family have had no news of his fate from the time of his arrest and are afraid he may have been tortured.
