Neutrality

[edit]

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmattulahi wa barakatuh @HamzatCan. I don't think I. I. Khanmurzaev is a neutral source for this claim "The Chechen version is also contradicted by the fact that Tashaw did not speak Chechen language." He's an ethnic Kumyk which makes him an interested party in this matter which means that neutrality is not met and such claims should be removed if neutral RS aren't provided. Assalamu alaykum wa rahmattulahi wa barakatuh @Goddard2000, what do you think? WikiEditor1234567123 (talk) 13:55, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Aleyküm asselam ve rahmetullahi ve berekatuhu. I don't know of any problems with Khanmurzaev. He's an expert in Taşav, and his works are peer-reviewed. And he's a candidate of sciences, which is a solid degree in Russia. I haven't found a single negative review of his works. Please finish the discussion before breaking articles I worked on.--HamzatCan (talk) 16:37, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Added a few more sources, it's a solid understanding that Taşav was Kumyk from Endirey, according to multiple sources, not limited to Khanmurzaev.--HamzatCan (talk) 16:57, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies for replying late, it was a hard exam period.--HamzatCan (talk) 16:56, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Waaleykum Salam yes Khanmurzaev is indeed claiming something dubious, there is no evidence of Tashu-Hadzhi not being able to speak Chechen as far as i know, i haven't checked the Khanmurzaev source though, is he using any reputable source to back up his claim? Only thing known about Tashu Hadzhi's origins is that he was from Endirey which back then has a large Chechen minority, there are Chechen authors who claim his father comes from Dishni-Mohk but for now in my opinion we should keep this article more neutral. You can check the book, I left link in the bibliography. The author really doesn't state any sources which claims him not being able to speak Chechen. I will remove it to make this article neutral (also remove both Chechen and Kumyk sources on his ethnical belogning if there is). If you have neutral reliable sources about his ethnical belogning, be free to add them. WikiEditor1234567123 (talk) 17:09, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I found this source by Rebecca Gould, who seems to have a PhD and apperantly specializes in this field. Her quote pretty much summarizes this debate, doesn't it? Although I'm not sure if this source is reliable, so help me out with that if you can.

Given that he was from the mixed Chechen-Qumuq village of Enderei, Hajji Tashaw would likely have been of mixed ethnic background.

For the moment i think this version by Rebecca Gould is the most neutral one and also the most accepted in acedemia. Goddard2000 (talk) 12:16, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I will then add this source. WikiEditor1234567123 (talk) 15:33, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
