Editing this Page for better compliance: Suggestions and review required

I have added more details, keeping in mind the Neutral POV & edited the content to remove advertisement tone. Also added a brief introduction about the product, technology, variants, features and pricing. Please let me know to remove the replacement templates, provided the edited version complies to the standards and is neutral.

I am new to Wikipedia and learning the policies and protocols to ensure the best standards. Please let me know the issues with the edited version, and also help me with suggestions to correct the issues with the edited version, if any. Also please inform he on how to remove the improvement templates and remove the tags - whether I can removve them myself or it has to be done by the moderators only.

It's all been reverted as it was taken directly from a copyrighted source. OlYellerTalktome 16:20, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Undoing edits made by User OlYeller21 as indiaenvironmentportal.org is under CC Attribution-Share Alike 2.5 India License & is listed as a free content in Wikipedia itself. --Globalfunky (talk) 07:33, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

I am removing improvement tags COI and advert from this article. As discussed with User::OlYeller21 these issues were to be addressed once the article was rewritten from a neutral POV and copyright issues were addressed. Please undo if incorrect. However, since very few Wiki articles link to this page, The orphan tag is retained. --Globalfunky (talk) 08:12, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

If you remove the tags, I will be replacing them. The entire article is taken almost verbatim from another website which, in my opinion, is a conflict of interest in itself and by definition shows a point of view. Also, the copyright violation was addressed but the other issues were never discussed with me. OlYellerTalktome 08:21, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

There's still a lot that can be done. Replacing the tag. OlYellerTalktome 06:29, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

As I was doing research before nominating the article for AfD, it looks like the product is definitely notable. The biggest problem with the article, and the reason for the refimprove, coi, and advert tag, is that it's taken directly from another source. In some cases, that's not a problem, but when it results in sentences like, "The purifier has been designed to tackle one of India’s biggest social and technological challenges – the need for safe and affordable drinking water.", the tags must be placed so that readers understand what they're reading. Sections that get into the technical aspect of the article seem to be fine but others definitely need some work. Does that help explain the issue? I can try to elaborate if needed. OlYellerTalktome 08:39, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
I'm going to add the copy/paste tag as it looks like the sentence I pasted above and some others are taken from the Tata Chemicals website which is copyrighted. I'm going to do a little more research of the Tata Chemicals website and see if the issue is larger than it originally appeared. OlYellerTalktome 08:43, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

That definitely helps OlYeller. I'll try and make the appropriate changes as suggested to make the article comply to the guidelines, but a further elaboration on the nuances will definitely help. Thanks in Advance. --Globalfunky (talk) 05:41, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

Added product evolution section, information about Sujal and rewritten to address copyright issues. As discussed by OlYeller, Sections that get into the technical aspect of the article seem to be fine, i.e, sections like TSRF Technology, Tata Swach Bulb, Tata Swach Design. That leaves only the introductory para and Range of products to be edited. I have edited the introductory paragraph to address the copyright issues. I have added citation for the range of products section. Believing in the essence of my edits, I am removing the COI, advert and refimprove tags. Please revert if the issues are not resolved and explain the further refinements that are required. --Globalfunky (talk) 11:45, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Hey Global. The changes look good. It still seems a bit like an advertisement to me but I may be biased. I still think that there may be a conflict of interest as I suspect you're associated with Tata but I'm not going to place the tag again. I am going to place a Wikify tag though. There's a few WP specific things about the page that could use some cleanup (references after punctuation, using the correct reference format, etc.). I imagine you'll probably want to change those which wouldn't require the tag but I don't know that I can explain how to make all of the changes so the tag will direct other Wikipedians here to help with the changes. OlYellerTalktome 15:19, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
If you want to check out more about Wikifying, the manual of style would be a good place to start. I'll give you a heads up though, it's extensive. OlYellerTalktome 15:20, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Thanks OlYeller. I will go through the extensive manual and incorporate the changes so as to make conform with the Wiki standards more closely. Also making a few more edits. Edits made --> Inline citation & internal link to Tata Consultancy Services, Titan Industries and Tata Teleservices. Also added a detailed note in product evolution section. --Globalfunky (talk) 06:27, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Added links to Tata Swach wiki page on 9 nine relevant articles on Wikipedia. So, removing the Orphan tag from the article. The nine articles are - Tata group, Titan Industries, Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Teleservices, Tata Chemicals, Indovation, Life Saver Bottle, Slingshot and Lifestraw. The last four pages mentioned already had references about the Tata Swach wiki page, but the links were incorrect. Rectified those links. Besides these four pages, I also added relevant links on other Tata Group company pages mentioning their contribution to the product development. Please undo if incorrect. --Globalfunky (talk) 07:13, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Do not remove the COI tag again. If you do, I will be initiating a sock puppetry investigation on your account. OlYellerTalktome 09:53, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

I do not understand what do you mean by the previous edit has been made from Tata Communications IP Address? Can you please elaborate? The previous two minor edits (as checked from version history hasn't been made by me Globalfunky (talk). And if you mean IP address from the service provider, more than 30% of Indians use Tata Indicom Internet connections as Tata is a major Internet Service Provider in the country. If that is the case then please reconsider your revision. Also you may please go ahead and initiate sock puppetry investigation. All the edits made to this page by me has been from Globalfunky account. Anything else aren't by me. And whatsoever has caused you to believe I may be associated with Tata group, is totally incorrect. Please check and give susbtantial evidence. Also clarify about your Tata Communicatis IP statement. I also checked the edits made from those two IP, and I believe you too have checked it carefully. If you see, those were minor edits with very minor sentence revisions or grammatical corrections. Does that warranty COI ?? Please elaborate the reasons for placing the Tag. --Globalfunky (talk) 11:11, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

According to Wikipedia COI page --> A Wikipedia conflict of interest (COI) is an incompatibility between the aim of Wikipedia, which is to produce a neutral, reliably sourced encyclopedia, and the aims of an individual editor. COI editing involves contributing to Wikipedia in order to promote your own interests or those of other individuals, companies, or groups. The definition focusses on the content quality and is against advertorial material. If you OlYeller think that the editor has close connection please bring forth the incident / content / edit that makes you think so and also the breach of Wiki policy that the edit has introduced to the Wiki article. I am removing the COI tag as the revision by you doesn't elborate any of the reasons to place the tag. --Globalfunky (talk) 11:45, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Given that you're new, I'm not surprised that you don't fully understand what the tag means. I'm replacing the tag and placing a warning on your talk page. I'll initiate an SPI when I have more time. OlYellerTalktome 17:48, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
To be clear, the tag notifies readers that someone with, at least, a close connection to the company has made edits to the page. The evidence is clear for anyone to investigate; someone from the company has been editing the page from an IP account. Your edit history and insistence on removing maintenance tags isn't helping anything. OlYellerTalktome 17:52, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

So be clear about it and suggest for valid rationale, so that even the new users can understand, or else the page will never by optimised and tagged AfD. There has to be valid arguments to justify COI in the content. Just saying there is evidence for anyone to investigate doesn't solve the purpose. Does it? --Globalfunky (talk) 18:24, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Undid revision by KuwarOnline. The user KuwarOnline undid his revision on the basis of the fact that article creator was related to Tata Swach. However, that version is vastly different from the current version and the user is no longer active on this page. The changes have been undone by Globalfunky also as the reasons previously stated by Oyeller is inadequate to place the tag as Tata communications is a major ISP in India. Suggestion awaited Kuwaronline. --Globalfunky (talk) 08:03, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

I m pretty late to respond here, hope the issue is being sorted. In future please leave a message on user talk so that he can revert here. KuwarOnline Talk 09:15, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
As a new editor, declaring what is and isn't adequate isn't going to get you anywhere. As you may not be aware, it's a holiday in the US and I haven't had time to launch the SPI regarding your edits. I'll be undoing your edit and getting to the SPI in the next day or two. OlYellerTalktome 08:50, 26 November 2010 (UTC)
