Requested move 19 July 2019[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: Not moved, the arguments that t.A.T.u. is still the primary topic for the redirect Tatu are more convincing than the arguments against. (non-admin closure) IffyChat -- 10:36, 28 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Tatu (disambiguation)Tatu – Given that t.A.T.u. has been defunct for nearly 7 years, and the fact that Tatu, California and the other terms on the disambiguation page exist, I propose that the disambiguation page be moved to the base name so that readers can determine for themselves which subject they are attempting to locate. • Support per nom - no clear primary topic. Move disambiguation page to basename. Paintspot Infez (talk) 20:52, 19 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Defunct or not, the group still draws a fairly impressive number of pageviews while interest in other topics (the community, the soccer player, the dab page) is very low-key. Top Google hits are all about the group as well. PC78 (talk) 22:02, 19 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per stats linked by PC78. Still seems to easily qualify for WP:PTOPIC. Colin M (talk) 22:06, 19 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak support given that the views and Google don't show us if readers search with plain "Tatu" as opposed to "t.A.T.u.". Crouch, Swale (talk) 20:10, 20 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per User:PC78. There is only one article about an entity simply called "Tatu" that is of any competition with t.A.T.u., Tatu (soccer), the arena soccer player/coach, and he is a distant second in traditional metrics of notability. —  AjaxSmack  18:23, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, no primary topic with respect to what people might expect to find. bd2412 T 11:31, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Remember that this is a partial title match for the band, since their name is t.A.T.u., not Tatu. Red Slash 21:17, 27 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • "t.A.T.u." is merely a stylism of "Tatu", I'm not sure it could be classed as a PTM. PC78 (talk) 21:54, 27 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have to say "not moved" is a bit of a stretch. Red Slash 03:15, 30 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Red Slash: If I saw any merit in the support !voter's arguments, I'd have closed as no consensus instead, but the end result would be the same. IffyChat -- 08:17, 30 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
