Error

[edit]

The Greek fasoulotavas is different from the Macedonian tavče-gravče. The Macedonian dish is actually a development on an ordinary peasant dish which was popularized by street vendors who would sell it in a then-forgotten fashion (i.e. in ornamental earthen pots). It's something peculiar to Macedonia the republic. --58.7.207.108 (talk) 11:53, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Citation(s) which explicitly differentiate the two dishes must be provided to support these claims. If Prebranac remains in the article, so should fasoulotavas. Beat of the tapan (talk) 11:36, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
1. Disagree: citations need to be added to prove it's the same dish, citations dont need to be added to prove they are different dishes. This is an article about tavce gravce not fasoultavas, so it doesnt make sense why fasoultavas would be mentioned.
2. If tavce gravce and fasoulotavas are the same dish, then why should this article be named tavce gravce and not fasoulotavas? That would only make sense if it was proved that tavce gravce was invented first and there's no evidence of that listed on this article at the moment.
3. As for your comment on prebranac, I have no idea, maybe that should also be deleted? Apples&Manzanas (talk) 18:10, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Further comment - i agree, the serbian dish appears to be a different dish. I think that whole section should just be deleted. This page should be dedicated to the North Macedonian food. There's no evidence that the North Macedonian food came before the Serbian one, and there's no evidence I can see that the Serbian food came before the Macedonian one. So I think it's safe to say that wikipedia should treat these as separate dishes unless reliable sources can demonstrate that one of these dishes came first and was then adopted by the other country. Butter bean?

[edit]

The butter bean link is to a disambiguation page. Is Phaseolus lunatus or Phaseolus coccineus the intended target? I'd guess the former, but am a little confused by the use of the term "fresh beans" in the intro, which might indicate the latter. Also, is the type of bean important to Tavče gravče, or are there variations with different types of bean? The article is unclear. -- 160.129.138.186 (talk) 00:28, 17 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
