TBS-downtown connetions[edit]

Other than the road leading to the highway north of the airport, are there any other ways to get to downtown Tbilisi? I noticed the railway line south of the airport on Google Earth; is there any light rail public transportation leading to the central station?

Thanks in advance! Theharpguy 23:07, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No there is no railway leading to the central station, but now it's being constracted. Probably it will be ready in December 2007. There is only one highway to dowtown tbilisi. So its very easy to get there.

Fair use rationale for Image:Back 2.jpg[edit]

Image:Back 2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Tech stops[edit]

We can sources the tech stop of the Privatair flight from Puna to Frankfurt, this flight shows up on the Tbilisi Airport arrival and departure webpage, it is relevant to the article and of as much interest as any regular flights with Tbilisi as final destination. Thus it should be included. Stepopen (talk) 14:35, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Again, per policy, tech stops are not destinations and do not belong in the destinations list. One cannot buy a ticket to fly from TBS to PNQ or FRA (or the other way around), ergo, neither are destinations from Tbilisi and PT do not serve TBS. For the benefit of those unfamiliar with said policy, a discussion has been started at WP:Aviation, where regular contributors to aviation related articles collaborate on discussing such matters and arriving at consensus. Feel free to weigh in. jasepl (talk) 13:47, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not a policy by any stretch. Furthermore, the comment makes it clear that this is a technical stop and not a destination bringing it in line what the style guidelines require. Quote: "If passengers can not disembark at a stop on a direct flight, then do not list it as a destination or as 'via'" - clearly if it says tech stop it is not listed as a destination. Stepopen (talk) 22:36, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, If you can't book a flight from one destination to another then it is not a destination. Snoozlepet (talk) 19:10, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WP:AIRPORT editors regularly alert each other on people like you who do not understand that we stand by the policy as a group. That is technically canvassing but not inappropriate canvassing. Please just read the first three paragraphs of WP:CANVASS. We have been around the Wikiproject long enough to be pretty sure many many editors support our stand. Jasepl is nice enough to prove that to you. So please take the discussion there, not here. HkCaGu (talk) 04:41, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
[1] is clearly inappropriate canvassing. Maybe you should read the first three paragraphs of WP:CANVASS. Jasepl nice enough to prove that to you, well, I wouldnt use the word nice given his incivility, racists remarks towards other editors, edit-warring and canvassing. Furthermore, the airport project style guideline is NOT a policy and even if it would be the fact that the entry makes it clear that the Privatair flight is a tech stop and nothing else, in line with what the style guideline requires. Stepopen (talk) 07:33, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
While Jasepl wording at that talk page could have been a bit more neutral they don't seem to have posted to multiple users so it's not really a problem. On the other hand there is a problem with your personal attacks. If you have evidence of the things you accuse him of then provide them or remove them. That said tech stops should not be in the destination list. If the stops are a regular thing then mention them in the body of the article. Enter CBW, waits for audience applause, not a sausage. 15:37, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Evidence was posted just right above, and in more detail on ANI. So I would suggest that you remove the nonsense about me making personal attacks. Stepopen (talk) 22:38, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You made personal attacks here with no evidence whatsoever. Enter CBW, waits for audience applause, not a sausage. 15:13, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Page is protected[edit]

I have protected the article from further edits pending a resolution of the question concerning which flights belong in the list. Some are seemingly fighting against consensus while others on the opposite side are inappropriately canvassing other editors. This protection is to prevent anyone from being blocked as a result of a slow burn edit war. I will be asking other, uninvolved editors to comment here on the talk page. After clear consensus is reached the page may be unprotected. I ask any administrator who happens to come by to please talk with me before releasing the protection. JodyB talk 12:36, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed page protection. It seems that a clear consensus has been achieved here and especially at the Wikiproject Airport page. Thank you all for your discussion. JodyB talk 12:05, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank for your enforcing civility and ensuring that any consensus is not skewed by canvassing. Stepopen (talk) 22:40, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

Per WP:COMMONNAME, the article should be moved back to Tbilisi International Airport. It is common, concise, and laconic as a title. --KoberTalk 08:37, 1 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Russian name[edit]

I wish to add the Russian name in some kind of footnote or in the infobox, because the airport was historically in the Soviet Union. I believe any Georgia-related topic in which a place (airport, for example) existed during the Soviet times, should have the Russian name in footnotes for historical reasons.

Meanwhile @188.129.183.57: had reverted the edit twice, but not using an edit summary, nor communicating on the talk page with me. I am disappointed that an edit summary was not used in the second revert. See User_talk:188.129.183.57. WhisperToMe (talk) 09:39, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
