Ivy League

The Ivy League is an athletic conference. Columbia student athletes eligible to play their 5th year can continue their studies at Teachers College and play on Lion's sports teams. Thus TC is "Ivy League"... CUfiveo (talk) 16:57, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Citations needed

Can someone help me out by providing citations for the following information contained in the article?

1. Alumna Mary Adelaide Nutting as the world's first professor of nursing

2. "The college also houses the programs in Anthropology (Anthropology and Education, and Applied Anthropology founded by Franz Boas)": provide citation that we are talking about the Teachers College program, not the Department of Anthropology within the Faculty of Arts & Sciences where Boas was a professor (this paragraph as a whole needs more sources)

3. Lifetime @columbia.edu e-mail addresses (not @tc.columbia.edu email addresses?)

Carnagie classification

If this info was accurate it should be in the body not the header, but it is not. TC should be classified under Columbia University not as a stand alone institution. TC is set up financially as independent but that is all. Columbia University is part of the legal name and all degrees granted are from Columbia University. Even as a stand alone university, which it is not it is an official Faculty of Columbia, it is still at the R2 level... but to avoid confusion about TC being a graduate school of Columbia and not an independent University, this inaccurate classification should be avoided. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:9000:6504:12bd:34be:c769:c9c2:b100 (talk • contribs) 10:54, September 19, 2020 (UTC)

User:ElKevbo are you saying it is more accurate to call Teachers College a "University" rather than a "Graduate School" even though TC does not offer bachelors degrees, only graduate degrees? IP user Vandalism: Email privilege

IP user has insisted that continued email privilege is somehow an encyclopedic content that warrants inclusion in the article. Must I really discuss this nonsensical argument? I guess I will give them chance to give their reasoning. GreaterPonce665 ^(TALK) 04:15, 19 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Is this a defining characteristics of TCCU somehow? Is this an important fact for someone to know about this institution? Could you please locate some similar examples on other university pages? or is this a requirement per WP:UNIGUIDE? To have a university email for life is a norm at almost every university and a nice example of undue content that doesn't belong on wikipedia. TC email is a defining characteristic and an important fact. There is a lot of misinformation about TC email online and it should be clarified in the wiki. **ALL TEACHERS COLLEGE STUDENTS GET A @COLUMBIA.EDU EMAIL ADDRESS** this is made clear in the source that was cited. Many think TC is on a separate email system and that is not true. This fact is very important and needs to be mentioned. It is not clear except in the source that TC grads keep their @columbia.edu email address for life and it should be noted in wiki, if not just the fact TC get @columbia.edu email addresses.
