Please avoid political talk here

[edit]

I see different users using this article to promote their agenda and based on their feelings towards Kangana Ranaut, who's quite controversial. Everyone should remember, the reliability of sources is determined upon WP:RS and not anything else. Please follow WP guidelines. ShahidTalk2me 09:54, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

But FirstPost is serving as a mouthpiece for BJP[1][2] and Kangana Ranaut works as ambassador for BJP government.[3] You cannot use this horrible source here. You should self-revert until you have gained consensus for the source. Dympies (talk) 10:03, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No no, my friend, Wikipedia is not your Twitter account, and you won't pull me into this boring political talk, which I have no interest in. This is exactly what you should start grasping (look what this section asks for and what you wrote in response). That some publications are accused by others as being mouthpiece does not mean anything. Another user has now accused NDTV and others of being the exact opposite. I don't prescribe to such childish nonsense. WP:RS is all that matters, and your speculations about some sort of dark conspiracy where a certain publication works this way or another behind the cameras based on their agenda is not gonna gel. I told is exactly cited by the sources and also presented them thus this is clearly not a case of any "dark conspiracy". Dympies (talk) 10:59, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Publications are often accused by other competing ones of such things. I can cite here countless columns accusing other publications of the same, from both sides. If we were to construct our WP:RS policy based on that we'd be left with no sources at all. I've seen NDTV being accused of bias as well. So? I don't care and I think Saibal Chatterjee is an excellent reviewer and personally would always prefer his fair critique. Truth is, no one is bias free, and you could speculate against those critical of the film that they are biased too. But Wikipedia does not work like that - especially when it comes to opinion pieces like film reviews. I do understand the emotion attached to the leading lady, but neutrality is exactly about trying to overcome that. ShahidTalk2me 12:34, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
