Glitch

[edit]

I recently added glitch as a genre for the song but it got reverted because it wasn’t sourced. I added it because when Lady Gaga says "Wha-Wha-What did you say, are you breaking up on me?", the sound effect heard in the "Wha-Wha-What" is meant to symbolize a phone loosing connection or glitching out. That is exactly what the glitch genre is, it emulates a glitch in the music. For that reason, I believe that the song fits into the glitch genre and I think it should be added. Most musical genres are a matter of opinion, with a few exceptions like Christmas music where all it takes is for the song to be used for Christmas celebration. For glitch I'm sure there are more factors than sounding like something electrical working sporadically. There's certainly a reception by the audience as the main factor. We should tell the readers that a song is glitch only if WP:SECONDARY sources have observed that it is glitch. Wikipedia is built on secondary sources rather than fine, upstanding editors like yourself figuring it out on their own. Cheers – Binksternet (talk) 00:05, 30 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Lady Gaga originally wrote this song for Britney, but since she turned it down she recorded it herself. This is the leaked demo version by Britney.
