Serious problems

OK ... apart from as a battle ground for the Wikipedian League of Anti-British Isles Editors, this topic has serious problems. Too many for me to go into right now. I mean it is almost absolute shite, not helped by the large dump of legalese in the middle of it.

Given the shared history from Norman times, the tenant farming systems across the whole of the British Isles were pretty much nigh identical, although each nation is worth featuring in its own rights. This is especially true of the Irish history (which was non-existence before I weighed in and stubbed it).

What is it all about ... and is it all not dealt with else where in bits already?

Nah, I looked at it again and it is nonsensical because if the current logic is followed, you would have to have a subsection for every nation on earth.

It probably deserves to be chopped right down to the first paragraph and the rest dumped elsewhere. --Triton Rocker (talk) 04:48, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

That is my proposal above - keep it to the first paragraph and create other articles for Tenant farming in Ireland etc. etc. I have made one correction (and remember you are not allowed to insert BI in any article) to conform with the reference for the moment. There are also important differences between Scotland/Ireland/England Wales in part because of the actual penetration of Normal systems, but mainly with the massive changes in agricultural reform in later centuries. All of that aside, if no one objects I will (or someone else can) create new articles for the country specific material, but the article back to the first paragraph and include references to the others. --Snowded TALK 07:38, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
I don't think you need to create more articles lets remove the problem by trying to remove the level one heading Great Britain and promoting England, Scotland and Wales to level one. Codf1977 (talk) 08:58, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
I'm OK with that, although I think you have to put Wales and England together as its the same legal system. However what about all the other countries of the world? --Snowded TALK 09:02, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
Yes to the England and Wales, as for other countries, detail can be added as and when it is available, if or when the article gets two big then sections can be spilt off. The only issue in removing the GB heading is what to do with the para under GB - any ideas? Codf1977 (talk) 10:12, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
Well its really about England and Wales so why not collapse it in there? --Snowded TALK 10:14, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
How's that ? Codf1977 (talk) 10:17, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
Like it, now lets hope it doesn't get disrupted!--Snowded TALK 10:41, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
