Fair use rationale for Image:Tnstateseal1.gif

Image:Tnstateseal1.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Why is Jermaine Shute on the alumni list but my dad who went to the collge is not on the site. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.235.136.195 (talk) 14:29, 15 October 2008 (UTC) 184.193.141.186 (talk) 06:36, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Please change alumni link for Steve Moore to point to his page, rather than the page of the hockey player by the same name.

Proposed split: List of Tennessee State University presidents

It has been proposed that the section Tennessee State University#Presidents of Tennessee State University be split out to a new list article: List of Tennessee State University presidents. Please comment.SBaker43 (talk) 09:50, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

Nahh. Not only would I not have a separate article like that, I'd trim back the info in this one. Those former leaders notable enough for their own article can have it. HuskyHuskie (talk) 04:16, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
I would offer a "weak support" vote, but I would change the name to President of Tennessee State University. You may wish to view President of Savannah State University or List of Presidents of Georgetown University as a template. Absolon S. Kent (talk) 23:43, 30 October 2011 (UTC)

File:Tennesseestateuniversityseal.png Nominated for speedy Deletion

An image used in this article, File:Tennesseestateuniversityseal.png, has been nominated for speedy deletion for the following reason: Wikipedia files with no non-free use rationale as of 10 April 2012

What should I do?

Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to provide a fair use rationale
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale, then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Deletion Review

To take part in any discussion, or to review a more detailed deletion rationale please visit the relevant image page (File:Tennesseestateuniversityseal.png)

Boyd Buie, Alumnus, Athlete and Team Owner

The list of notable alumni should include Boyd Buie. According to the TSU Sports Hall of Fame, he was a TSU alumnus and played basketball for TSU, 1941-45. Googling "site:tsutigers.com boyd buie" will find a link to at least one citation. Subsequently he played for the Harlem Globetrotters and then owned a show team. Before his name can be added to the list, a biographical article must be created. Sufficient information may be available in archives of the university. Regards, ... My father Football All American and there are no records in your system that shows him attending the now Tennessee State University in 1948 - 1954

My parents attended the now TSU in Nashville Tn in 1948 to 1952. To my surprise I cannot find any information of my Dad who played football as a center for 4 years at TSU during that time period. It is my understanding that their team was one the top college negro teams around and would be ranked as a top bowl contender in today's term. My father is 83 years old and my mother who was a majorette for the school is now 80. I also graduated from TSU as well as my wife. My Dad was a All American Center during that time. Upon graduation after he was married and was drafted to the Korean War. I want my father and his teammates to be recognized for their accomplishments to the now TSU. What can we do to correct this situation? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wwg1988 (talkcontribs) 01:58, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

Alumni section

does U. L. "Rip" Gooch need to be listed three times? and does he really need 13 sources to verify he went to TSU? 2601:483:80:5FAC:E17D:77E1:8B8:395C (talk) 05:59, 17 March 2018 (UTC)
