Query on Lead Section Information

[edit]

Hello!

In the Lead Section of the Teranesia page, an editor has written "The novel won the 2000 Ditmar Award for Best Novel but Egan declined to accept the award." I have been trying to find information / sources on Egan specifically denying the Ditmar award for Teranesia, but am yet to find anything specific so far.

I have found interviews with Egan explaining how he withdrew his book from eligibility in the Ditmar Awards, but this was recounted from 1996 meaning he could not be referring to Teranesia.

Help would be appreciated from any editor on finding a source verifies whether he denied the Ditmar award for Teranesia or not :)

UPDATE I have found a source that verifies Greg Egan declining the Dimtar Award win. Source is an email between Egan and the Dimtar Award Subcommittee.
