balance[edit]

This page seems misleading and in urgent need of balance. Although there are many cases of peaceful death from terminal dehydration there are also a large number of well-publicised cases reported in the press where it has been described by those undergoing it as hellish. With adequate medical and nursing care is one thing, but this needs considerable preparation by the persons involved and much willingness on the part of a doctor. Although not illegal elsewhere, such willingness outside of places that have a liberal attitude to these things (such as Netherlands and Oregon) is not always forthcoming.Parzivalamfortas 04:26, 10 November 2014 (UTC)

Time[edit]

I understand that many variables affect the progression of symptoms and, ultimately, the TOD. Never-the-less, it is to me incomprehensible that after reading this I won't know if it takes a day or a year without any water to descend from "good" health to death for an "average" adult. A week? A month? AND What is the usual cause of death? That is (if there is one or a few typical CoDs) what are they specifically? Muscle (heart) failure? Nerve failure? Circulatory collapse?
