Protein (such as Rho protein) that detect additional termination sequence in messenger RNA that RNA polymerase cannot detect alone. For some termination sequence RNA polymerase does not need assistance to stop transcription. However, RNA polymerase does not detect all termination sequence and may need termination factors.

There are translation termination factors as well as transcription termination factors. Should these also be discussed in the article? 69.254.70.84 03:28, 28 May 2007 (UTC)Somejane[reply]

Can someone with editing access please remove the part about "Expert Scientist Vikram whatever", the sentence is incredible pretentious and adds nothing of value to the topic. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.94.108.18 (talk) 03:01, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

comment Information provided in this article about termination factor is good but not enough to understand in complete.Article lacks some of the things about termination factor such as what happen if mutation take place in ETF1 gene, transcription termination factor, what about the termination if cell grows in highly stress conditions and termination factor of prokaryotes. Actually process of terminatoin is some what different from animal to animal and from cell to cell. Each and every step of the termination can be studied by using different technique in molecular genetics and also be monitored if needed. It is the factor which is utmost important in release of mRNA and protein in transcription and translation process respectively. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abdul tameem (talkcontribs) 02:47, 10 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You should add more info then! Its marked as a stub for a reason, that reason being that, as you said, its too short. If you need a space to put a draft together you can use the Wikipedia:Sandbox or this page until your satisfied with your proposed changed. Then make the edit! --HighFlyingFish (talk) 15:17, 10 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Some of the terms used in the article could be explained in more detail to facilitate understanding of the process, e.g. rut site, or have a link added to another wiki page with the information in full. As an user above mentioned, the differences in other species could also be mentioned. The page Eukaryotic translation termination factor 1 might possibly be merged with this one, or at least cited.
