Term of endearment[edit]

Okay, I was sent here by another article, however, this isn't the 'terms of endearment' that I was suppost to get to. Is there no article about Terms of Endearment (like honey, sweetie pie)?--142.177.158.6 06:58, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

YES, I agree, the synopsis is random and arbitrary, as if the writer selected one or two of his/her favorite scenes to quote from. What IS the point?? It's not coherent, it's not representative of the film as a whole, or even does justice to the film's major themes--which should be the real discussion here--it's a mess. Incest[edit]

I come from the general discussion where I gave a complaint about an article was this: nothing is mentioned about incest between characters. This film contains at least two scenes of incest between mother and daughter. Sorry, but first of all, I have seen this movie multiple times and there is no mother-daughter incest clearly portrayed to the viewer; there is also nothing in the movie script where a character mentions incest (as opposed to a film like Chinatown (1974 film) where the incest is made very clear in the script). Therefore, since it's not obvious to the viewer, it can't be put in the Plot section. Second, I have also never seen or read a reliable source that interprets this movie about being mother-daughter incest, which is what would be needed to put it in the article, since it is not obvious to the viewer. Since there is no clear statement or visual portrayal of incest in the film, a reliable source interpreting or discussing incest in the film would be needed in order to add material to the article and cite to a source. The fact that you, me or any other editor might think there is incest is not sufficient to include it in the article as this interpretation would be OR.   • I have to concur - I don't remember any incestuous scenes in the film. There were scenes that could be argued as displays of extreme codependency, but codependency is not incest.
