GA Review

This article is written very well, and very thoroughly researched. It is well cited. I cannot find any major WP:NPOV or stability violations, and images are all tagged appropriately with copyright tags. The only major issues with the article were copyediting and manual of style issues, which were easier to fix by copyediting myself. For future reference, here is a brief summary of my copyediting:

  • Wikilinked full dates (e.g. 29 December 1911), so that they show up in user's date preferences properly. I also removed the th/st/nd from the month/day (e.g. write '14 March' instead of '14th March'), since that is the way it's used predominantly on wikipedia.
  • Added metric conversions for measurements, added a non-breaking space between measurements and units of measurement (to prevent them from being separated by line breaks).
  • Changed - to – (usage of endashes is preferred, particularly when referring to begin/end years (e.g. 1911–1913).
  • The beginning of the article was a bit image heavy, so I moved the image of Scott down to the below the first section separator (he's the leader, and we're listing the expedition members, so this seems appropriate). But in order to do this I had to get rid of the three columns, because the image overlapped the text of the third column. Still, I think it looks a little better with the images separated; it doesn't look quite as bunched up at the top).

This article meets the current Good article criteria, and will be listed at WP:GA. Great work! Dr. Cash (talk) 00:30, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
