Hanging Gardens?

[edit]

Is there a reference for the "Hanging Gardens of Haifa"? Who first coined that term of reference for them? I've never heard of it myself. I understand the analogy with the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, but as I understand it there was some sense in which they actually were "hanging" - as if they were large hanging baskets or something. I'm not aware that there's anything similar in the Baha'i gardens at Haifa. PaulHammond (talk) 14:28, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know who termed them or why, but a quick search on the web shows that there are many Israeli references to the Terraces as Hanging Gardens for some unknown reason. See: [1][2][3][4][5][6]
The Frommer's tourist guide [7] states "the Universal House of Justice, with 58 marble columns and hanging gardens behind" and "They are now a geometric cascade of hanging gardens and terraces down to Ben Gurion Boulevard". Regards, -- Jeff3000 (talk) 14:51, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Patamares

[edit]

What means Patamares? I didn't hear or read this word until now. And I think, it was better, if the link is in the section "See also". -- JCIV (talk) 16:32, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jeff, thank you! And I was pleased to write a new article... ;-) -- JCIV (talk) 20:25, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Letters of the Living

[edit]

Shouldn't the text read: "...although no individual terraces are connected with individual Letters."? - Parsa (talk) 20:31, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Corrected. Please revert if wrong. Wiki-uk (talk) 12:30, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It is correct now. I have added the reference to [8] as well. Wiki-uk (talk) 12:34, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
