"Opened in 1990"

[edit]

I had dinner at the Jade Room at the Gold Strike less than a week ago, and I asked a worker when the casino was built, and she said that it was created 28 years ago, which would make it 1981 or 1980, not 1990. Was this a typo, or was the worker wrong? Can someone find a source for this claim? Note that I did not ask when it was opened, but I don't think there would be a ten year delay to actually open the casino after it was built.
