Sources for name due to similarity to five pointed star[edit]

Here are two sources for the name of the molecule being related to the shape:

  • "...Sessler, on the other hand, designed his Texaphyrin, for which a patent is pending, in the shape of a two-dimensional Frisbee with a five-point Lone Star in the middle of it."[1]
  • "The road to texaphyrin wasn't easy. After months of fruitlessly trying to make the ... a new five-lobed porphyrin shaped like the star on the Texas flag. ..."Science journal online[2] - registration required.Johntex\talk 04:34, 16 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
