Thales' corruption involvement

No mention is made of the involvement of the Thales groups in the South African arms deal. Why not? This is surely relevant. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.207.33.197 (talk) 01:15, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Thales-logo.png

Image:Thales-logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:37, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

The article makes no mention of Thales' in-flight entertainment division. Perhaps it should be mentioned briefly. ANDROS1337 14:20, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Edits from 192.54.144.229

I reverted his last edit which changed The Thales Group (Euronext: HO) is an French electronics company for The Thales Group (Euronext: HO) is an French electronics company .

Even though we could argue his previous edit history on this page clearly hints it is only a vandal who is trying to have fun here. Examples of his previous edits are renaming Thales to Thalas or signing the article. On the point proper the place the group is based, as well as the major shareholders, leave very little doubts. I'm reverting another edit were Thales was changed from a French group to a Global one. I'm repeating the point here, it is based in France, has it's most important offices in France, the centralised technical center is in Valence-Provence (not to be mistaken with Valence in Spain), it is registered in France and so forth. Would Thales be considered purely international then so can each and every companies worldwide such as British Aerospace (important offices in the USA), Microsoft (offices all accross the globe) and so forth. It is owned by French groups and the French state and in all cases the group's official website leaves no ambiguity here ( http://www.thalesgroup.com/docfile/dyn/69395F5D621C7B2769055139620C4603:5A336D53465B6822540A187D0D185852:17444E72500C0C03532328673E556970 and http://www.thalesgroup.com/Groupe.html/Historique.html ). Another edit reverting it without any discussion after this one will be a "Three-revert rule" violation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:3RR. Matthieu (talk) 08:28, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

The image Image:Thales.svg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.
