This might go as stub page

This page looks like it's good as a stub. Of course we might have to add more information to it but other than that it could be good enough. I've seen other youtuber's wikipedia pages like, boyinaband's page, that are kind of short like this one. I would consider backing up your page in case it gets rejected. Jackotothemax (talk) 21:03, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

Should I move this to mainspace or no?

I want to put this in main space as it can be improved in there. I want to see if it would be accepted to it. Jackotothemax (talk) 03:02, 19 January 2019 (UTC)

YouTube channel URL is incorrect

Channel URL "TheOdd1sOut" is owned by someone else. Correct URL: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo8bcnLyZH8tBIH9V1mLgqQ --David154 (talk) 11:09, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

Has anyone else noticed?

On the English Wikipedia, this article had went through TWO Articles for Deletion, one of them ending up in a delete! However, in the Chinese Wikipedia, this article had actually been created all the way back in March 2018 and went no no AfD's AT ALL! March 2018 is also way before the first time this article went through an AfD on the English Wikipedia! Anyway, has anyone else noticed this or is it just me? I would like to clarify that James has made a song with Boyinaband before he did life is fun. It was entitled the Prancer rap. It is posted on his Theodd2sout account. Herc200 (talk) 01:40, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

I removed that because TheOdd1sOut only made the music video for the song and did not make the song itself.

The user is trying to request something to the effect of https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=TheOdd1sOut&type=revision&diff=892324072&oldid=892301982 being undone. The song in question is on Rallison's second channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBQCoxH6KRE) but, as I stated both in my edit summary and above, Rallison only created the music video for the song and the song itself is by Boyinaband and therefore should not be on this page.

Hello there. I'd like you to edit this as there is an incorrect fact on this page. This page said that author Janette Rallison is his mother, which is almost certainly not the case, as the source is just a forum post with no proof and James never said she is his mother, so I'd like you to fix it. Thank you.

That forum post is literally the author’s own site. Do you have any proof that says otherwise?

3rd channel

TheOdd1sout has a third channel called TheOdd3sOut. Channel link:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxO69hopHP9n0dGYeqed75g -73.210.114.83 (talk) 20:43, 10 July 2019 (UTC)

Okay, but I don’t think adding it to the page will be necessary because it has less than 2000 subscribers, has not been active for a couple months, and it is not linked to on his main channels.
CAMERAwMUSTACHE (talk) 20:59, 10 July 2019 (UTC)
OK, but he still owns that channel so it could be added as a minor detail not on the info box. -73.210.114.83 (talk) 22:24, 10 July 2019 (UTC)
Still, it lacks the notability required to be on the page. CAMERAwMUSTACHE (talk) 22:34, 10 July 2019 (UTC)

The addition of "Robert"

I have once again removed Robert from the page as this time it was only backed up by a blog. I have no idea where this originally came from as he only refers to himself as James, and any legitimate interviews I've found only refer to him as James Rallison. Even the BMI Foundation, which to my knowledge lists full legal names, only lists him as James Rallison. I have only found two legitimate sources that mention his name of being Robert, neither of which are focused on him and only mention him in passing. Those sources are this Feb 2019 article from The Guardian about VidCon UK and this Insider article from December 2019 about viral videos. It is worth noting that at the time of both articles being published the name Robert was on the Wikipedia page, unsourced. I am concerned that this may be an instance of WP:CIRCLE as every time the name Robert has been added to the page it has not been supported by a reliable source, and I am concerned that since Wikipedia is linked to the little info panel that Google has there is a small chance they may have pulled the Robert from there.

On the off-chance the name is legitimate, he only goes by James as evidenced by his book so I'm not sure if this would mean solely putting it in the infobox or what.

CAMERAwMUSTACHE (talk) 02:12, 4 June 2020 (UTC)

"James Robert Rallison" [1] looks like the first time "Robert" was added.
The same editor changed it to "Robert James" soon after [2]
Assuming The Guardian didn't check is a stretch though. --Hipal/Ronz (talk) 03:56, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
I know The Guardian not checking is a bit of stretch but I got into a mini-edit war around this time last year that stemmed from the LA Times messing up a similarly small detail. I just find it weird that TheOdd1sOut hasn’t mentioned the Robert at all in any video. I feel like it would’ve come out in some context. And I still find it weird BMI didn’t include the Robert. The whole situation is weird and I find it extremely weird that no one properly sourced the Robert in all this time. CAMERAwMUSTACHE (talk) 21:06, 6 June 2020 (UTC)

@CAMERAwMUSTACHE: "Robert" comes from TheOdd1sOut himselft. In one of his vides (I'm sorry but can't find which one now), he claimed that his first name is Robert, but he has been always going by his second name James instead. The name Robert (and I think version R. James as well, though I'm not sure) appeared in a few of his videos. TheEditMate (talk) 18:39, 10 January 2021 (UTC)
If you could link the video that would help. I’ve been watching his videos since 2017-18 and I don’t recall it ever coming up. I figured he’d mention it in one of the school-related videos since, in my experience at least, people who go by their middle name often have to clarify that they do so especially with substitutes but I couldn’t find it in those videos. Like I said in my original message I just find it odd no one reliably sourced the Robert—even if it was to a primary source—the entire time it was on the page, which is why it led me to believe it was false since the articles that do mention the Robert came after it was on Wikipedia. Every time it was added it was either unsourced or sourced by a blog or fan site. CAMERAwMUSTACHE (talk) 19:33, 10 January 2021 (UTC)
@CAMERAwMUSTACHE: Yeah, I'm trying to find which video he said that. It was actually mentioned in context of school and that he had to correct his teacher. You are good at guessing. About the video I went through list of his videos and couldn't find the video with that scene. However, problem is, James actually removed/set as private a couple of his older videos. I know there was one school-related video that I think he deleted/set as private, that could possibly contain that scene. Also, about the usage of the name before existence of the Wikipedia article, as once of the people who wrote article in the first place (though on different account), I can assure you there were pages already calling him Robert before that, though I don't think any of the source reliability acceptable on Wikipedia (for example articles on Wikia). Hello! Maybe change the photo with Anthony Padilla and James. They both requested for it to be changed in a video they did together on Anthony’s channel (I spent a day with THEODD1sOUT), so I think we should honor their wishes and change it to the one they took in the video (4:25) Thanks!
