Sourcing Oliver North
[edit]Hi, I added a source [1] to confirm that the Oliver North credited is indeed Oliver North. I feel it is necessary to make this verifiable since Oliver North is not known as a screenwriter and the episode itself merely credits him by name - so it could, conceivably, be someone with the same name. Without a reference how is a reader supposed to ascertain that this article is correct about his involvement? How would they know that an editor hasn't made a mistake? Moreover, what harm does leaving the reference in the article do, in terms of its usefulness. For these reasons, I've reverted its removal. I won't do so again - but I'd appreciate some discussion here before it is removed again. Thanks. 2.25.115.116 (talk) 14:53, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
- 1) How many "Oliver Norths" are out there?
- 2) The episode has aired so no sourcing is necessary.
- 3) Most fans/watchers of the episode probably researched this the minute his name appeared onscreen.
- 4) Who really cares that much, or will in a month, year or decade?
- 5) If it's really that important to you, create an episode article and put a Production section in with as much sourced info you desire. — Wyliepedia 21:43, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
Season 2 renewed date
[edit]I find it odd that it was renewed for a second season 1 year before Season 1 aired. Can we correct this? Nergar (talk) 20:45, 22 January 2015 (UTC)
- ok I think im totally wrong on this one. never mind. Nergar (talk) 20:48, 22 January 2015 (UTC)
The plural of “Jennings”.
[edit]A note from a retired writer and professor: The last name of the main characters in this series is “Jennings.” Many times in descriptions of the season’s episodes, “Jennings” is used to refer to Philip and Elizabeth acting together, as though “Jennings” is a plural. But it’s not. “Jennings” would be plural only if their last name were “Jenning.” But, again, it’s not. Although it is admittedly awkward, the plural of “Jennings” is “Jenningses” (as in “the Jenningses did x, y, z together”). There are ways to avoid the plural — such as referring to “Philip and Elizabeth” instead — but using “the Jennings” as a plural is grammatically wrong and should be revised. 47.18.24.121 (talk) 04:57, 16 June 2023 (UTC)
