Weight is important

[edit]

I can tell from some of the reviews that this is especially controversial, and the Turkish government support of Armenian genocide denial complicates things.

Remember that viewpoints should be represented by WP:WEIGHT. Consider all of the reviews for the book, and give more space to the positions which appear the most often in reviews. Positions that appear less often should get less weight in the article.

As another note, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted some reviews of the book:

  • Güçlü, Yucel (December 2007). "The Armenian Massacres in Ottoman Turkey: A Disputed Genocide" (PDF). Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs. Routledge. pp. 467–469.

Strong bias

[edit]

Even though you or many others do not share the same view with the author, it should be treated without bias. There is a strong bias against author and his work in this wiki article.

Wikipedia is not a party publication so articles should be without bias.

The views of Tamer Akcam and other cited authors is not reliable since these authors openly hold a strict "non-pro-turkish" views to say the least. Just search "Tamer Akcam" in wikipedia and see in which wiki articles he's cited.

Also many of the authors cited can not read Ottoman Turkish, let alone Istanbul Turkish which makes their comments about the era questionable. 31.142.132.128 (talk) 10:40, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
