Although the picture showed in the article is one of Cézanne's Bathers, I'm not sure the text refers completely to it, instead to the Grandes Baigneuses also in Philadelphia but much more popular: could part of the text be referred to this other picture? Grandes Baigneuses has got articles in Italian and Spanish wikipedias. --Joanenglish (talk) 15:27, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Grandes Baigneuses, 1906, Philadelphia.
My mistake, I've corrected it. faithless (speak) 15:50, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article name

[edit]

Should this not be named Les Grandes Baigneuses or its English equivalent, as The Bathers was a series of paintings and not a singular painting as suggested in the article?--Chimino (talk) 13:00, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Bathers

The Bathers is an oil-on-canvas painting by the French artist Paul Cézanne, first exhibited in 1906. The painting is the largest of a series of paintings of bathers by the artist, and is considered a masterpiece of modern art. He worked on the painting for seven years, and it remained unfinished at the time of his death. Often considered Cézanne's finest work, it is in the collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
