Comments[edit]

  • Background
    • "umpired by former Cambridge rower John Houghton Gibbon" – I have probably bleated before about the use of the false title in articles on British subjects – tabloidese, in my view. But this is hardly a point that stands in the way of promotion to GA.
Avoided the false title. The Rambling Man (talk) 20:59, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Race
    • " his first push for ten strokes" – I got the general idea, but the precise meaning isn't clear to this layman. I assume it's a recognised technical term, and I don't seek any change.
Added suitable link to glossary of terms. The Rambling Man (talk) 20:59, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
    • "head wind" – the OED has this as one word
Reflecting OED now. The Rambling Man (talk) 20:59, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing there to detain us (though please ponder nonetheless).
