I shall complete this soon Jaguar 19:17, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Initial comments[edit]

  • "In a race umpired by former rower Claude Taylor" - might be worth mentioning that he is a former Cambridge rower (as mentioned below and in other Boat Race GAs)
I chose not to do that in the lead to avoid repeating Cambridge in the same sentence. It's expanded upon later... The Rambling Man (talk) 09:32, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "P. H. Thomas (a four-time Blue between 1902 and 1905)" - light or dark?
Light, added. The Rambling Man (talk) 09:32, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "The Light Blues out-rated their opponents from the start but soon after their number six, Paul Bircher "caught a crab", allowing Oxford to take a half-length lead" - I've read this a few times and I'm not sure if that "but" needs to be there?
I think it should be there, because I'm saying they held the lead, but soon after the start, Bircher caught a crab.... The Rambling Man (talk) 09:32, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Can hardly believe this myself but this article is flawless, just like the other 100 Boat Races! It is well written, compact and comprehensive. All the qualities are there and it all meets the GA criteria Jaguar 09:17, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks very much! Not far to go now!! The Rambling Man (talk) 09:32, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
