References[edit]

In response to the request for references, I've provided some reliable sources which, I believe, verify the major statements in this article. I did not find (but I'm sure they are out there) references for the 2006 Australian production various girls choirs, nor did the 2 articles I added as refs. specifically mention "40 singer-dancers and a 25-piece orchestra". I will not remove the "reference" template until others have a chance to take a look. JeanColumbia (talk) 16:30, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Great work. I did some streamlining. I'm not sure that the girls' choir information or the 40/25 mentions are notable. Also, on the amateur debut: our policy at WP:MUSICALS has been to not mention amateur performances unless they are somehow notable. Best regards, -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:16, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Good job on finding the references! Most of the information is now adequately sourced, and the remaining "questionable" information is marked as needing citations. Unless someone else objects, I'd say it'd be safe to go ahead and remove the template now. Again, thanks for finding references, and for finding them so quickly! —Mears man (talk) 02:04, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Girls' Choir reference

"Allen's stirring popular alternative to the national anthem is performed with 100 members of the Australian Girls Choir stationed around the auditorium..." from the Variety review, already cited. OK, there's one, I just did not read the review carefully.

The playbill article (2/13/06) refers to the "ensemble of 40 singer-dancers, a 25-piece orchestra..." I did not want to use that as a source because it's before the production started and things could have changed. However, in a pinch...

I like leaving these things in to show the scope of the 2006 Australian production. I'll remove the template now. Happy Valentine's Day. JeanColumbia (talk) 04:21, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Plot synopsis[edit]

I think the next step for the article is to flesh out the synopsis more, putting in the names of the major characters and an idea of what the major scenes and plot points in the show are about. I saw the show on Broadway, but my clearest memories are that the gal playing Judy Garland was spot on, the kid playing the young Allen did a backflip off the piano, and Jackman broke character several times and flirted shamelessly with women in the front few rows of the audience. I think he was a little uncomfortable playing a gay character and had to show some machismo. He even went down into the audience and sucked face with a random (very pretty) fan. Ah, well. "It's nice to be Wolverine." -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:02, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The plot added on Aug 12, 2012 is cut-and-paste from [1]. I do not know if this is a copyright violation because the site has no notices re copyright. Consider this a "For the Record". Flami72 (talk) 22:07, 12 August 2012 (UTC) Correction, the plot added on Aug 12, 2012 is not a cut-and-paste, but does contain some close paraphrasing. I am dropping this now.Flami72 (talk) 11:50, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
