AllMusic date

[edit]

@TheOnlyOne12: I have never observed it to be "standard" to cite the album's release date in the date parameter when citing AllMusic's reviews, which have no published date. Is this standard detailed somewhere for me to read? Οἶδα (talk) 08:57, 28 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Mostly all album reviews from AllMusic have its release date next to the music critic's name to show when the album was released. I'm not 100% sure if the details are in the guidelines anywhere but from what I have seen, including the release date is fine. You're more than welcome to let me know more about it. I hope this answers your question. TheOnlyOne12 (talk) 21:23, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The CS1 date parameter is for the date of the referenced source. An album's release date is not the date of the AllMusic review, which is unknown by design. The author of the review is not the author of the AllMusic entry, which aside from the genres/styles/moods/themes is merely a reproduction of details from the primary source. As such there would be little purpose of the citation because the primary source does not need explicit citation in most cases. Οἶδα (talk) 23:41, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
