Addition of several albums

[edit]

I am requesting the addition of these lost albums: Recollections from old London town, FACT Mix 45 / The Caretaker, and The complete digital collection (1996-2008). None of these albums have been officially uploaded as far as I know, however there are some uploads online of the first album. --User:2A02:C7F:FAA0:FC00:D57E:9E51:4A27:D3A (talk) 20:30, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Can we merge this article with V/Vm?

[edit]

The title basically states what I'm trying to do. I'd like to merge this page and V/Vm and page a James Kirby Wikipedia page, containing all of the writings that Wikipedia has made and his biography, along with his discography. --Hyperultra (talk) 20:09, 1 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Strongly Oppose - The Caretaker is a unique project with its own identity, influences, and its own cultural importance outside of Kirby's other work. My preference would be for a separate James Kirby page (biography, and overview of his musical identities), which linked to the Caretaker project and the V/Vm Test label as separate. Think, for example, of the discography section alone - Kirby is so prolific, and his influences so diverse, that merging them will create an unmanagable page.

As a sidenote, I was coming to talk to query whether Leyland Kirby and the Stranger should be on the Caretaker's page? Ninquelosse (talk) 21:29, 26 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"dark ambient with intermittent orchestral segues and flourishes"

[edit]

I love the man's work, but would it be more accurate to say that it's a lot of old public domain big-band / swing tracks slooooowed right down, and put through a reverb unit? Because that's what it sounds like. -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 19:55, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Remove V/Vm discography from the page

[edit]

Since there's already an article for V/Vm, shouldn't the works Kirby made under V/Vm be there, and not listed here? InvalidOStalk 16:53, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Change of page name

[edit]

Why not just change the name of the article to "James Leyland Kirby"? He's had two projects (V/vm and the Caretaker) so why not merge those pages and change the name of this one?
