Revised draft for this article

[edit]

Hi there, I'm looking for editors to review a revised draft for this article. Before I explain any further, I'd just like to let editors know that I do have a conflict of interest here as I've written this draft on behalf of, and with input from, the communications team at The Climate Reality Project. I've aimed to write this draft in a neutral fashion but please take my COI into consideration when reviewing this draft. There are three parts to my request, so I've broken these out below under separate sub-heads so it's easier to follow:

Review of new draft

[edit]

The new version of the article that I've written is in my userspace:

I'm looking to replace the current draft of the article for several reasons. A quick review of the references in the current article shows that they are almost entirely primary sources, so I have focused on rewriting this article using primarily independent sources, however I have relied on The Climate Reality Project's website for confirmation of a few simple details.

This article also lacks a sufficient overview of the organization and provides no information about the organization's formation, so I've included this in my draft. I've also restructured the article into what I feel is a more logical order that is in keeping with Wikipedia guidelines. For example, the information in the current Maggie L. Fox section should be grouped within an Organizational overview section and should not be a standalone section.

I plan to comment in a few days.NewsAndEventsGuy (talk) 19:43, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Merging articles on predecessor organizations

[edit]

As part of this request, I'm also asking that two other articles be removed and redirected to this page. The Climate Reality Project was formed from the joining of The Climate Project and the Alliance for Climate Protection and since these two organizations no longer exist in their previous forms, it makes most sense to summarize their foundation and activities within a History section in this article instead of retaining the two separate articles. In the above-linked draft, you'll see I've done just that. In the draft I've kept any information I was able to support with independent sources that is currently in these two separate articles.

 Done by Sphilbrick. 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 22:14, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Re-naming this article

[edit]

Finally, I'd also like to suggest renaming this article The Climate Reality Project. As you can see from the organization's website the word "The" is part of the organization's name.

Done This portion of my request is resolved. 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 21:26, 23 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I understand that the potential article name change and the merger of the other two articles makes this somewhat complicated, but if you think this is something that you can help with please check out the draft I've placed in my user space here. Because of my COI, I'd like to avoid any direct edits to all of these articles, but I am more than happy to help in any other way I can. I have this page on my watchlist and will respond here to any comments. Thanks, 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 20:25, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm late, but I concur with this change. NewsAndEventsGuy (talk) 19:41, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New draft added

[edit]

16912 Rhiannon worked on a new draft, as announced above. Everyone had a chance to review it. Because the editor has a COI, I was asked to make the update. I'm going to do so as a Copy-paste, which will preserve the history of this article, although it will not reflect the edits made by 16912 Rhiannon. If there were multiple editors contributing to the new draft, I'd do a history merge, but those can be tricky, and I'm more likely to screw that up.

I am making three changes to the draft developed by 16912 Rhiannon:

  1. inserting the logo.
  2. including the image of Gore.
  3. fixing the coding of the cats--SPhilbrick(Talk) 13:47, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much for reviewing the draft and taking it live, Sphilbrick. It looks great with the logo and photo of Gore, appreciate you adding these and fixing the cats. Not to mention, redirecting Alliance for Climate Protection and The Climate Project. I'm very grateful for your help. Thanks again, 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 22:19, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Heads up

[edit]

Maggie Fox will be leaving her position. Not yet settled on when, but sometime in spring, so watch for formal announcement.--S Philbrick(Talk) 20:26, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
