Achmed or Ahmed

The guard is given two different names

Paragraph on "tiny world"

I've removed the lengthy explaination of how capturing kids and making them work on the "it's a small world" ride is a reference to a joke the staff make at a Disney park, since I think it's unlikely this directly inspired the joke: the idea of the ride having real children who have been captured is a fairly obvious joke that's probably been done by other parodies of "it's a small world" before, so the writers are just as likely to have got it from one of those. If people disagree and want this re-instated, maybe it could be trimmed. Jimbow25 19:09, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

Also removed "The actual song could not be used due to copyright issues", no doubt this is true but it wouldn't be a parody if they'd used the exact same song! I very much doubt the show's creators tried to get clearance to use the original song, unless someone has evidence to the contrary. Jimbow25 19:09, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

Possible controversial moments

Did anyone think that the line about the Jews in Egypt saying that it was going to be smooth sailing after that was controversial? Cromulent Kwyjibo 19:56, 21 November 2005 (UTC)

What's the controversy? It's a joke! It's funny because everyone knows that it wasn't smooth sailing for them.

I'm Jewish and I thought it was funny. Though I understand why non-Jewish viewers might feel uneasy about it. Robert Happelberg 21:34, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
Another possible race controversy:
When the Indian guard is chasing Peter and Stewie, Peter says "Look, there's a woman learning." The guard suddenly turns around in disgust. This was somewhat of a cheap joke at the religion of Islam.
Most people will assume that the guard is a Muslim, but could he be a Hindu or a Sikh? ShutterBugTrekker 15:29, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
If you're meant to assume the guard is Muslim then that goes against the fact that most turban-wearers are Sikhs. I'm not sure that Sikhs are as well documented for sexist attitudes as Muslims, but that seems to be the implication. I've edited that point on the list of cultural references, if it actually counts as a cultural reference. Jimbow25 18:56, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
Maybe I beat you to it... I myself was thinking about the style of the turban in particular, it is peaked, and I've never in my life seen a Muslim with a peaked turban. I will leave it to the individual Sikh to decide wether it's offensive or not, but at least McFarlane ought to at least get the background facts right (or avoid misleading, since a person with a turban is in my experience most likely a Sikh) --GSchjetne 20:15, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

I just wanted to comment on the following: "When the guard is chasing Peter and Stewie, Peter tries to distract him by saying "Look, there's a woman learning!". This is a reference to sexist attitudes in some religions prone to fundamentalism, in this case Islam (the FOX version cut this line, but it remains intact on Cartoon Network). " Today, August 11th, 2006, this episode aired on http://www.fox30.com/ (Chico, California) and this line was not cut from the show.

The guard has a name, it is said when he's ordered to chase them. I can't remember the name, though. The whole bit is a reference to Indiana Jones. Robert Happelberg 23:13, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

I don't think the joke with the guard being distracted by a "woman learning" had anything to do with religion at all, but rather that you are not supposed to learn anything while you are in Disneyworld, as it is a place for fun and play. At least that's how I took it.193.216.164.123 18:57, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Then you missed the joke. 124.107.248.36 17:47, 20 November 2006 (UTC)jay

No, i didn't "miss" the joke, I just got it differentely than you. Unless you're the writer, you can't really say wether or not that's the way the joke is supposed to be. Personally, I don't think it makes any sense, nor is it particullary funny, if the joke was referring to muslims (it's even been established that the turban they gave him shows him *not* to be a muslim). On the other hand, if it was like I suggested, Disneyland (and the entire Disney-corp., with their movies and twisting of historical facts) being about having fun and not learning, it makes sense and is funny. The line works just as well with "Look, a man learning".
That's why we have WP:NOT#OR... what you "Personally" think about a joke is irrelevant to Wikipedia. But whatever, keep it in, or let someone else delete it, it's just Family Guy after allSandtiger 18:24, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Courtshipofstewiesfather.jpg

Image:Courtshipofstewiesfather.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Please remove the one with the birds. Could you go picture hunting somewhere else? TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 21:40, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
